Texas Child Safety Seat and Seat Belt Laws
Texas child passenger safety laws require children under the age of 5 and less than 36 inches in height to ride in an approved car seat or booster seat. During the operation of a vehicle a child must be properly secured in a child passenger safety car seat system according to the instructions of the seat's manufacturer. Children under the age of 17 must properly wear a seatbelt.
