Nebraska Child Safety Seat and Seat Belt Laws
Nebraska state law requires all children up to the age of 6 to ride in a federally approved car seat or booster seat that is appropriate for the child's age, height and weight. Children aged 6 - 18 must be buckled up propoerly in a seat belt if they are not in a booster seat. Nebraska law prohibits any children under the age of 18 from riding in the cargo areas of any vehicle. Drivers and front seat passengers must wear a seat belt or be in a child safety seat at all times.
