Kansas Child Safety Seat and Seat Belt Laws
Kansas car seat safety laws require children under the age of 4 to ride in a federally approved car seat. Children over the age of 4 but under the age of 8 must ride in a booster seat unless they weigh more than 80 pounds or they are taller than 4'9". Kansas law also prohibits children under the age of 14 from riding in any part of a vehicle that is not intended for passengers including the bed of a pickup truck.
